Larry Wilson, 70, of Decatur passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born in Laurel, MS and had resided in Decatur for the past 31 years coming from Hattiesburg, MS. He was the son of the late James and Katharyn Wilson. He proudly served in the United States Army in the early 1970's and had a lifetime career as a seismographer for the natural gas and oil industry, an adventure that sent him to many locations around the world. He had countless stories to tell of his travels. He was a HAM operator and enjoyed repairing computers for his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Katharyn Wilson.
Survivors include his Fiance, Ranae Denney of Decatur; his daughter, Lynn Wilson of Waynesboro, MS; and several good friends including but certainly not limited to Mike Morrow, Jason Kirk, Max Ross, Cathy Howard, William Bidwell, Audie Barrier and Stanley Gross.
Friends are invited to visit at Bowers Funeral Home Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 7pm with Rev. Thomas Carver officiating. Additional visitation and funeral services will be held at a later date in Waynesboro, MS. Burial will be in Serenity Gardens in Waynesboro, MS at a later date.
