Kenneth “Wayne” Wilson, age 74, a native and lifelong resident of Meigs County, passed away on June 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his Family.
He was a devoted husband, daddy, grandpa, and a friend to all. He enjoyed spending time with his family on the farm raising chickens with his grandson and riding around on his side by side checking his cows and running his beagles.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father: Norman and Rosie Wilson; Mother-in-law: Una Mae Denton; Sister: Opal Wilson Heck; Brothers: Charles and Larry Wilson; Nephew: Chris Wilson; Great Granddaughter: Rynleigh Vaughn; Brother-in-laws: David Skidmore and Jack Snyder.
He is survived by his Wife of 54 years: Linda Skidmore Wilson; Children: Justin (Dawn) Wilson, Caletha (Kenny) Vaughn; Sister: Lesia (David) Fitch; Grandsons: Lane (Brianna) Vaughn and Landon Wilson; Sister-in-Laws: Becky (Sue) Skidmore Snyder and Pat Skidmore; Brother-in-law: Bo (Shine) Denton; Dear Friends: Henry Raybon, Ed Vaughn, George Tuell and David Waters; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the Wilson-Vaughn Cemetery (890 Lower Concord Rd, Decatur, TN 37322) with the Rev. Jimmy Long officiating. Pallbearers will include: Edward Wilson, Dennis Shaver, Doug Wilcox, Henry Raybon, Ed Vaughn, Jeremy Crager.
