Joyce Ann Rockholt Womac, "Granny Joyce", 71, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Beulah Rockholt. She was a member of the New Hopewell Baptist Church of Athens. She was also a member of the 39er's Club of Decatur, VFW ladies Auxiliary, AMVETS of Sweetwater volunteer, Meigs County Schools volunteer for children's vision, former PTA president of Columbia Elementary School in Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother Lee Rockhold, infant sister Barbara Jo Rockholt, niece Carol Davis, nephew Steven Davis, great nephew Brad Parker. Survivors include her husband Claude Ralph Womac; daughters and their husbands, Claudia Ann Womac Voyles and Carl of Athens, Darlene Womac Krouse and Ted of Ten Mile; brother Jimmy Ray Rockholt and wife Becki of St Cloud, Fla.; sister Faye Davis and husband Glen of Decatur; grandchildren Jason Volves and wife Danielle, Melissa Voyles Lee and husband David, Krystal Krouse Haupert and husband Shane, Angela Krouse Budds and husband Patrick, Doug Howard, Stephanie Webb; great grandchildren Elizabeth and Lilith Voyles, Brittany Krouse, Zakk and Madox Haupert, Alissa and Brandon Howard, and Isaac Vess. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 16, in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamey Davis and Rev. Mike Rymer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Beta Cemetery Friday at 10 am. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
