Joyce Irene Howard Forrester

Joyce Irene (Howard) Forrester, aged 76, passed away on July 22, 2024, in Decatur, TN. Born on January 22, 1948, in Chattanooga, Joyce dedicated six years to the U.S. Air Force Reserves, a commitment that reflected her deep sense of duty and community service.

A long-time member of Decatur Church of God since 1993, Joyce was deeply involved in her church community. Her faith was an essential part of her life, providing strength and comfort through the years.

Joyce's hobbies included camping and spending cherished moments with her family, activities that brought her immense joy and peace. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, providing them with endless support and affection.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Liz and Herbert Howard; her sister Shirley Jones; and her brother Tommy Howard.

Joyce was married to her beloved husband, Steve Forrester, for 56 years, a union blessed with children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Steve; her son and daughter-in-law, Steve Jr. and Carrie Forrester; her daughter, Angela Forrester; grandchildren Steven, Mikaela, Ash, and Quin; great-grandchildren Riley and Sadie; her sister Rosie Canales; and her brother Johnny Howard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. at Decatur Church of God on Thursday, August 22, 2024 with the Rev. Frank Wright officiating.

Joyce Forrester will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a faithful friend. Her legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her.
