Joyce Ann Bynum Colburn

Joyce Ann Bynum Colburn, age 78, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Joyce was a daughter of the late Bruce and Virginia Bynum and was a lifelong member of Knob Creek Church of Christ in Graves County, Kentucky. She retired from Walmart in Athens; she enjoyed making ceramics.

She is preceded in death by son: Charles Robert “Robby” Colburn; stepbrother: Edward Blalock.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Charles Colburn, son: Bill Colburn; granddaughters: Morgan (DJ) and Hailey Colburn; grandson: Matthew Colburn; great-grandsons: Declan, Dixon; sisters-in-laws: Judy Boswell; Margaret Walston; brother-in-law: Andrew Colburn; stepsister: Brenda (Johnny) Hurt; stepbrothers: Jerry and Ricky (Cheryl) Blalock; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. James Staton officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 2 p.m., prior to the service.
