Joseph Thomas Powell

Joseph "Joe" Powell, age 72, of Ten Mile, TN went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 22, 2011 at NHC Health Center. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired specialist for TVA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Julia Guthrie Powell; two brothers, Guthrie and Wayne Powell. . He is survived by his wife Joyce "Jane" (Huff) Powell; one brother-in-law, Jim and Malinee Huff, of Athens, TN; two sister-in-laws, Wilma Ballew and Bernice Woody, of Ten Mile, TN; one nephew, David Powell; one niece, Brenda Powell. Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Brown and the Rev. Rick Duncan officiating. Pallbearers will be Sam Inman, E.C. Shearman, Greg Buckner, Mark Irwin, Bobby Leffew, Jerry Swanks, Jerry Walden, and Jerry Shoemaker. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Ten Mile Cemetery, Twin Eagles Farm.
