Johnna Joines Hampton, age 51, of the Clearwater Community, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Iris Joines, grandparents Belva and Effie Joines, Daniel and Sally Hundley, a brother Ken Willis, and her mother-in-law Frances Robinson.
She was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church, served on the McMinn County School Board and was active in the E.K. Baker PTA. Johnna was a graduate of the Meigs County High School and Cleveland State Community College, where she was given the "Most Distinguished Student Award". She earned a Bachelors Degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College and her law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Johnna was fun loving and had a quick wit, enjoyed learning and exploring new ideas and loved spending time with her family especially her love, Clifton and their precious daughter, her "Baby Bird" Emily.
Left to mourn her passing are her loving and faithful husband Clifton Hampton, her cherished daughter Emily Hampton, brother and sister-in-law John and Margaret Joines, sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Gene Bowers, father-in-law Clifford Hampton, brother and sister-in-law Kelvin and Susan Hampton, nephews Jonathan and Eric Hampton, nieces Kristy Hampton and Tierney Joines, aunts Omega Collins and Bea Tester and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Bowlin and the Rev. James Richardson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will assemble at the Clearwater Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 7, 2017 for the committal services. Bobby Brown, Jake Miller, Randy Milsap, Darrell Shelton, Dave Cornell, and Dan Evan Serving as Pallbearers.
