John A Ward

John A. Ward, 81 of Decatur, went home to be with Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur and owned and operated J & S Pawn Shop on River Road in Decatur for 31 years. He is preceded in death by his parents John L. and Amanda Powers Ward.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Susie Ward of Decatur, son, Chris Erwin (Kathy) of Decatur, daughter, Terri Ward of Ten Mile, brothers, Oscar Ward (Kay) of Hamilton County, Martin Ward (Phyllis) of Chattanooga, Robert Ward (Vickie) of Decatur, sister, Iva Lillard (Jim) of Decatur, grandson, Matthew Buckner of San Pedro, CA., several special nieces and nephews and friends will all miss him.

We appreciate all that East Tennessee Hospice has done for our family.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamey Davis officiating.

The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Beta Cemetery in Decatur. Serving as Pallbearers Clay Moss, Chad Combs, Scott Curtis, Jessie Combs, Oscar Ward, Robert Ward and Honorary Pallbearers Jessie Wilson, Bob Newman, Johnny Watkins, John Keylon, Bob Ward, R. J. Lillard.
