Jessie Marie Bunch Swafford

Jessie Marie Bunch Swafford, age 86, of the Hillsview community, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born July 23, 1938, to John Taylor and Sitha Howser Bunch, the second of seven children. She was a faithful member of Bethel Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arnold Swafford; son, Jimmy Swafford; daughter, BJ (Robin) Gober; son-in-law, Rodney Kelley; and granddaughter, Stephanie Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Kelley; son, Jeff (Cindy) Swafford; 5 grandchildren: Melisa (Brian) Harrison, Caleb Kelley, Katie Swafford, Amanda (Luke) Hayes, and Corey Winder; 8 great grandchildren: Ian, Evie and Nora Harrison, Allie and Brantly Johnson, Cohen Hayes, Nicholas Baker, Jamie Baker Stephenson; 1 great-great grandson, Alekai Baker; 3 sisters; 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at Bethel Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:30 pm, where we will gather to honor her memory and rejoice in the promise of everlasting life.
