Jerry Don Clark, age 74, of Athens, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 7, 2022. He was born on September 6, 1947 to the late Nellie Lee Clark. He was a 1966 graduate of McMinn Co. High School and a Vietnam Veteran. He retired in 2001 from Bell South after 33 years of service. He was an active member of the Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, AR. for 35 years, in Ministry with Pastor Arnold Murray. Studying God’s word was his daily treasure. He is preceded in death by his brother: Jackie Clark; grandmother: Marie Gray; father and mother in-law: Dick and Viola Hutsell; best friend: Max Burgess. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Linda Hutsell Clark of Athens; sons: Casey Don Clark, John Clark, both of Athens; grandsons: Elijah Clark (Christien and great granddaughter: Huntleigh), Connor Clark, both of Athens; granddaughter: Morgan Clark of Knoxville; sister: Janice Buchanan (Scott); sisters-in-law: Judy Wilson (Kenny), Diane Bradley; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A visitation will be held from 11 to 12 noon on Friday, March 11, 2022 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with a graveside service immediately following in the Decatur Cemetery with friend and Pastor Floyd Duncan officiating. Pallbearers include sons: Casey and John Clark, grandsons: Elijah and Connor Clark, and special friends: Jason Burgess and Cy Gleaton. Honorary Pallbearers: Kenny Wilson, Scott Buchanan, Darrell Swafford, and Jacky Davis. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Scott Luchsinger, with Parkwest Medical Center for keeping his word to Jerry Don.
