Jay Ricker

Jay M. Ricker, 76, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Paul and Hazel Pittman Ricker, sisters; Mary Jane Hunter, Jessie May Steele, brothers; Homer Lee Ricker, Lester Ricker.

He is Survived by his wife; Amanda Ricker of Decatur, sons; John David Bates of Decatur, Jay Matthew Ricker of Athens, daughter; Janet Lee Brown of Riceville, brother; Duke Ricker of Ten Mile, sisters; Dorothy Ann Crisp of Decatur, Rita Ricker of Decatur, Betty Daniels of Riceville, grandchildren; Chesten Bates, Crystal Harper, Paul Ricker, Zachary Hicks, Nathaniel Hicks, Phillip Shelton, Homer Brown, Chevy Brown, 8 great-grandchildren; Ronnie, Emmalie, Abagail, John Michael, Nathan Gunner, Jax, Cheyenne, Scottie, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.



A Graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Rev. James Staton Officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.
