Janet Melissa Suggs

Janet Melissa (Roper) Suggs, 65, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.

She was a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church.

She loved her grandchildren, fishing and camping.

She was preceded in death by father James Alton Roper, Sr. and step mother Edith and mother Madeline Reattoir; step brother Bobby Summerford.

Survivors include her step father Claude (Butch) Reattoir of Dayton, TN; husband Herley (Buddy) Suggs of Decatur, TN; sons John (Donna) Barnes of Auburndale, FL,, Dennis (finance Suzanne Catlett) Suggs of Decatur, TN; daughter Jamie (Chris) Walden of Decatur, TN; brothers Jim (Jane) Roper of Decatur, John Roper of Rock Springs, GA, Dwight Summerford of Palm Harbor, FL, Larry (Eloise) Summerford of Clearwater, FL, Tommy (Carol) Summerford of Auburndale, FL; sisters Jeannie (special friend Kevin) Redman of Destin, FL, Edie Coffee of Cleveland, TN; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of good friends.

Funeral service will be at 8 pm, Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Bowers Funeral Home Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Neal Pillion officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the funeral home.

Interment at 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, atChattanooga National Cemetery,1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404
