Janet Lea Schouggins Ware

Janet Schouggins Ware transitioned June 15th, 2023. She was a native of Hixson, TN, grew up on Big Ridge, and then lived in Decatur, TN. Her beauty, charisma, laughter, sense of humor, and fire is sorely missed. She was passionate about music, fishing, writing, and raising her voice against inequity. She was preceded in death by her father: Jesse Schouggins, Jr., paternal grandmother: Nona Johnson Schouggins, paternal grandfather: Jesse L. Schouggins, maternal grandmother: Emily Howard Hutton, and maternal grandfather: Lloyd C. Hutton. She is survived by her mother: Gloria Hutton Schouggins, daughter: Cozett Dunn, son: Damon Ware, and grandchildren: Kaily Ware, Landon Ware, and Jesse Ware. A celebration of life will be held at the Decatur Community Center, 345 Main St., Decatur, TN on July 1st, 2023 from 3 to 6 pm. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Ware Family.
