James Edward Womack
December 7, 1959 — March 29, 2024
James Edward Womack, age 64, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence.
He was a son of the late Harvey and Peggy Newman Womack. He loved hunting, fishing, and farming and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his son: Anthony Talton; brother-in-law: David Bright; niece: Shannon Womack.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years: Bobbie Womack; daughter: Barbara (Coleman) Elder; son: Michael Goode; grandchildren: Baylee and Ecil Elder; special niece: Cindy “Booger” Nicholson; siblings: Renee Bright, Robin Womack, Tracey (Danny) Caldwell, Chris (Adeline) Womack, Kelly (Crystal) Womack; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Beta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
