James Doyle "J.D." Womac, Sr.

James Doyle Womac, Sr., age 82, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

James was the son of the late Tommie and Burley Helton Womack. He enjoyed mowing lawns, working on small engines, and watching his farm animals.

He is preceded by his parents; Wife: Wanda Womac; Son: James Doyle Womac, Jr.; Sister: Dana Lee Craig.

He is survived by his children: Mitchell (Rhonda) Womac, Jeff (Diane) Womac; Grandchildren: Darrell Womac, Jeremy Womac, Lisa Cofer, Joey Bishop, Steven Bishop, Amber Harrell, and Eric Cross; several great-grandchildren, other extended family, and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Joe Andrews officiating.

Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
