James Earl Wilson

James Earl Wilson, age 68, of Decatur, went home for a reunion in heaven after a long bout with congestive heart disease and other medical problems, Sunday June 3, 2012. He served in the U.S. Army where he received the Good Conduct Metal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, National Defense Service Metal, Riffle Marksman. He was a lifelong member of AMVETS post #90 of Decatur. He was a senior operator for TVA where he retired. James was preceded in death by his father Bruce Lee Wilson, mother Hazel Davis Wilson, and brother Bruce Wilson Jr. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Heavner Wilson; children, Jason Scott Wilson and wife Stephanie of Decatur, Barbie Lynn and husband Steven Wilson of Decatur, Robert "Bobby" Davis and wife Amy of Maryville and their sons Airman 1st Class Dustin Zackery and wife Danielle Davis, of Monterey Ca., James Kenyon "Jamey" Davis, and Robert Dole "Trey" Davis, both of Maryville; brothers Roy Wilson and his wife Shirley, of Athens, Jessie Bennett "JB" Wilson, of Decatur, Ross Dean Wilson and Audrey Newman, of Decatur; sisters Bernice "Buddy" Hyde, of Decatur, Betty Jo Matthews, of Loudon, Glenda and Robert Greene, of Decatur; his children's mother, Mary Carlene Watson Davis Wilson, of Decatur; extended family, mother-in-law Margaret Heavner, Carole Heavner and her daughter Yolonda, Brenda and Paul Lowery and theirs daughters Sasha and Hope, Janet Childree and her children Austin, Adrian, and Kayleigh, of Decatur, special granddaughter Tamson and husband Dusty Breeden, special great-grandchildren Piper and Stormie Breeden, of Athens. The funeral service will be 11am Friday in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Dump Armour and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Bill Wilson, J E Wilson, Tommy Harris, Ron "Hippy" Elliott, Bill James, Roger Carpenter, Harold Idle, Dean Erwin; honorary pallbearers Bill Jarvis and Harlos Colbaugh The family will receive friends 5-8 Thursday at the funeral home.
