James Preston Shaver

James Preston Shaver, age 90, of Decatur, TN, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024.
He was a son of the late Alfred and Nelle Shaver. He enjoyed going to the dirt track, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, and mowing.
He was preceded in death by wife: Edna Shaver, son: Tommy Shaver, grandchild: Andrea, siblings: Ollis, Ed, Sarabelle, and Eugene.
He was survived by his sons: Dennis (Brenda), Travis (April) Shaver, and David (Margie) Shaver, siblings: James, Joey, Susie, Rosie, Sydney, grandchildren: Heather (Nick), Ashley (Cody), Hunter (Maddy), Koebe, Brian, great-grandchildren: Zack, Krista, Haley (Ray), Tommy, Dawson, Daxton, Chloe, Kinslee, Chris, Brianna, great great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Rhett, Chris, 4-legged companion: Cricket, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Travis Shaver officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 in the Beta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., prior to the service on Thursday.
