James Kenneth Lankford

James "Dock" Kenneth Lankford, age 83 of Decatur, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Meigs Masonic Lodge 213; Steel Workers Union Rockwood Teamsters Oak Ridge where he served as Committeeman and President of the Steel Workers Union in Rockwood. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Clara "Eaves" Lankford; step mother Frances Lankford; brothers, John F. and Ralph Lankford; sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Earl Porter. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Imogene Lankford, of Decatur; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Candi Lankford, of Athens; brothers, Bill and his wife Cubby Lankford, Garland and his wife Gay, sister-in-laws, Peggy Lankford and Dolores Lankford, all of Decatur; sister Faye Akens, of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Taylor, Carter and Luke Lankford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 2. 2012 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Graves and Rev. Charles Dump Armour officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 1, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Decatur Cemetery Wednesday following the funeral. Pallbearers are Crock Armour, Steve White, Joe DeBusk, Terry Brown, Glen Craighead, and Bobby Dennis.
