James David Hale

James (Jim) David Hale, age 82 of Decatur, TN went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of the Decatur First Baptist Church. He was a member of Meigs Masonic Lodge 213, Alhambra Shrine (Hillbilly Unit), York Rites, Scottish Rites and Telephone Pioneers. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin and Bessie Marr (Powell) Hale; and son Donald James Hale. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Katherine (Kyker) Hale of Decatur, TN; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald David and Lila Faye Hale of Tellico Plains, TN, Charles Michael Hale of Silver Point, TN; two daughters and son-in-laws, Carolyn Jane and Greg Gesse of Decatur, TN, Tanya Marie and Dannie Rogers of Decatur, TN; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Evelyn Kile of Decatur, TN, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann and Doug Allen of Crossville, TN; 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy McCarter officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
