James Larry “Demp” Erwin, age 76, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents: James Lawrence and Dora Farris Erwin; sister: Faye Early.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Sherry Erwin; children: Larry Erwin, Judy (Mike) Moore; grandchildren: Chandler (Abby) Erwin, Lea (Chris) Owens, Harley (Destiny) Moore, Lana Moore, Arlen Moore; great-grandchildren: Liam Owens, Declan Owens, Grayson Moore, Oliver Moore, Finlee Moore, Jude Moore, Bailey Mae Erwin; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Beta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 2 p.m., prior to the service.
