James Dudley Edgemon

James Dudley Edgemon, 80, of Ooltewah, formerly of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.

Born and raised in Meigs County to the late Joseph Shipley and Annie Mae Edgemon. He was a member of the Ten Mile United Methodist Church and the Gideon Association. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Edgemon.

Survivors include his wife Sally (Guthrie) Edgemon, of Ooltewah; sons, Jimmy and his wife Penny Edgemon, of Chattanooga, Kenny Edgemon, of Kimball, Joey Edgemon, Scott and his wife Dee Dee Edgemon, John Fite, and Dana Fite, all of Chattanooga; daughters and their husbands, Marena and Andy Fults, of Birchwood and Celia and Vince Tiano, of Chattanooga; sisters and their husbands, Jo Anne and Bob Nelson, of Knoxville and Brenda and Ray Melton, of Decatur; twelve grandchildren; six great grand children; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Brown officiating. Interment will be in Edgemon Cemetery following the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12-2 pm.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
