Jackie Grissom

Jackie Cleo "J.C." Grissom, 75, a life long resident of Decatur, TN, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 in Charleston, TN. He worked at Shaw Industries in Decatur and retired from Southern Wholesale in Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Grissom and Viola (Walker) Grissom Vandergriff; 3 sons, James Anderson Ferguson, Monty Dale Grissom, Craig Crisp Grissom; 3 brothers, Wallace Grissom, Wayne Grissom, J.R. Grissom; 1 sister, Gurdie Myers; half brothers and sisters, Jimmy Grissom, Sue Grissom, Earnest Grissom, Wanda Grissom and Johnny Grissom. Survivors include 3 sons, Gary Grissom, Jerry Grissom, and Marcus Dean Grissom, all of Meigs Co.; ex wife and special friend, Kathy Grissom, of Meigs Co.; brothers and sisters, Judy (Robert) Gentry, James Grissom, Johnny (Betty) Vandergriff, David Vandergriff, Ronnie Vandergriff, Connie (Bernard) Morrison, Barbara (Brownie) Bishop, Lloyd "Peanut" Grissom; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2 pm with Bro. Mike Lawson officiating with interment to follow in Bethsadia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Doug Grissom, Tracy Grissom, Shane Vandergriff, Kevin Brown, Josh Brown and Troy Nation.
