Ivan Richard Bassett

Ivan Richard Bassett, age 71, of Decatur, formally a resident of Sacramento, CA, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. He loved spending time with his friends and family, fishing, farming, gardening, and lending a helping hand. He was a hard worker and lived his life for his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father: Franklin Bassett; mother: Annie Smith; brother: Frank Bassett; niece: Karen Willett; nephew: Billy Johnson. He is survived by his children: Ivan (Staci) Bassett, Richard Bassett; siblings: Lyman Bassett, Kitty Haynes, Mary (Jim) Lenderman, Kathy (Jeff) Bostic; grandkids: Zackary and Brooklyn; special niece: Kimberly (Chris) Cox; special cousin: Eva Bassett Talley; special friend: Randy Bostic; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Greeneville, TN to celebrate Ivan’s life. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Bassett Family.
