Ira Asbury Howard

Ira Asbury Howard, 75, of Decatur, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cecil (Stokes) Howard; brothers, Ronnie Howard, William (Junior) Howard; sisters, Liza Couey, Willie Womack, Rose Scroggins, Edna Shaver, Tip, set of infant twins.

He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Howard of Charleston, TN, Mike and Angela (Cronic) Howard of Cleveland; step son Chris and Misty Howard of Cleveland; daughter Julie and Don Martin of Athens; brothers, Bud Howard of Georgetown, Roscoe and Christine Howard of Cleveland, Pete and Emma Howard of Decatur, Jesse Ray and Brenda Howard of Birchwood, Donnie and Kim Howard of Prospect, James (Bo) Howard of Chattanooga; sister, Christine and Harold Thompson of Georgetown; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 am, Jan. 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. David Evans officiating.

Interment will be in the Cofer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at the funeral home.
