Idella Goforth Moon, 92, of Decatur passed away at her home Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was born in Meigs County to Richard and Mary Goforth. She had been a resident Carrollton, KY and relocated back to Decatur three years ago to be with her daughter, Patricia Cross . She was a Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Goforth; her brothers, Edward Goforth, Clyde Goforth, and Richard Goforth, Jr.; her sisters, Dessie Crisp and Dorothy Moon; her son, Jerry Moon and her daughter, Patricia Cross.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Moon of Henderson, KY and Tommy Moon od Carrollton, KY; her daughter, Melodie Boswell (Mark) of Owensboro, KY; her son-in-law, Rev. James F. Cross of Decatur; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral services will at 1pm with Rev. James F. Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
