Ida Mae Shelton

Ida Mae Shelton, 80, of Decatur passed away at her residence Thursday, august 9, 2018. She was born in Decatur and relocated to Florida in 1962 but relocated back to Decatur in 1987. Ida loved going to church, working, reading her Bible and spoiling children. She was a Baptist by faith and a member at the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Orzie Jennings and a brother, Steve Jennings.

Survivors include the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Maynard Shelton of Decatur; a brother, Homer Jennings of Decatur; and three sisters, Francis Carter, Ethel Layman, and Martha Lillard, all of Decatur.

The family will receive friends 11am to 1pm at First Baptist Church in Decatur. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1pm at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with Pastor Jamey Davis and Kenneth Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
