I. L. Elder

I. L. "Sonny" Elder, age 74, of Decatur, TN, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He retired from Volunteer Electric Coop as Maintenance Shop Foreman, he had over 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Elder; wife Ruth (Moses) Elder. He is survived by his mother, Pearl (Nance) Elder of Cleveland, TN; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Ricky and Dianne Elder, Danny and Mitzi Elder, Lonny and Suzanne Elder, all of Decatur, TN; two daughters, Mary Colbaugh, Sharon Ziegler and fiance Ronny Stephens, all of Decatur, TN; five grandchildren and four step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jamie Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the funeral home.
