Herbert Ray Edwards

Herbert "Buddy" Edwards, 71, of Decatur went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 30, 2013 at his home. Born on Aug. 23, 1941, Buddy was the son of the late Joe and Rose Edwards. He was preceded in death by his sisters Joe Ann Abbott and Coranell House. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara "JoAnn" Edwards of Decatur. Son, Travis Edwards and Special friend, Ashley Cook and her son Hayden of Decatur. Step Sons, Keith (Sherry) Armstrong and Douglas Armstrong both of Decatur. Three grandchildren; Nathan Ricker, Tabitha (Brad) Boreing of Arkansas and Kala (Ethan) Gossett of Decatur; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Debbie) Goforth of Decatur; sister-in-law Pat Thompson (Jack Johnson) of Cleveland. Pallbearers will be Keith Armstrong, Doug Armstrong, Kenny Cordell, Greg Cordell, Jeff Sharp and Scotty Scott. Honorary Pallbearers Eric Kyle, Jimmy Goforth. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2 from 5-7 pm at Bowers Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Short Creek Baptist Church cemetery at 10 am Wednesday.
