Helen June Blevins

June 17, 1948 — January 15, 2019

Helen June Blevins, 70, of Calhoun passed away at her home Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was born in Meigs County to J.C. and Bessie Lee Petitt. She was a 1966 graduate of Meigs County High School and worked several years as a clerk for Dr. Sharma. She organized the suicide survivors support group of Cleveland and with Dr. Sharma she co-authored the book "Insane Jealousy". She was Methodist by faith and was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Bessie Petitt; her husband, Buddy Blevins; and her brother, Franklin Petitt.

Survivors include her sister Louise Clevenger (Arnold) of Cleveland; her sister-in-law, Geneva Petitt of Cleveland; a special friend, Kenneth Stafford of Calhoun; nieces and nephews, Thomas Clevenger (Diane) of Cleveland, Steven Clevenger of Cleveland, Angela Murray (Greg) of Knoxville, Jeff Petitt (Jeannie) of Chattanooga, Jerry Petitt of Calhoun, and Travis Petitt (Tiffany) of Cleveland; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, January 18, 2019. The Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Barry Kidwell and Pastor David Moore officiating. Interment will be at 1pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Blevins Cemetery in Calhoun.

Pall bearers will be Jeff Petitt, Jerry Petitt, Travis Petitt, Thomas Clevenger, Steve Clevenger, Greg Murray, Tanner Petitt and Austin Petitt.
