Harry Smith

Harry Smith III, 68, of Ooltewah, TN passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday Jan. 11, 2015. He was born Dec. 22, 1946 in Decatur, TN. Harry enlisted in the Army and served our country in Vietnam. He then went to California where he received his degree in education. Afterwards he started Smith Construction, moved back to Tennessee and lived the remainder of his life in Hamilton County. Harry enjoyed playing basketball and visiting friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Smith and mother Zella Denton Smith, of Decatur. Survivors include his brother Jerry Dale Smith and his wife Tammy, of Decatur; nieces Tanika Beavers and Tracey Cornett; a great niece and nephew; and special friend Angela Prickett. Interment will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Thursday Jan 15 at 10:30 am with graveside services officiated by Rev. Mike King. Pallbearers: Ray Colbaugh, Richard Dickerson, Lynn Colbaugh, Andrew Cornett, Daniel Beavers, Mike King. In lieu of flowers make donations to the local chapter of AMETS or the American Legion.
