Grover Cleve Pilkey

March 24, 1960 — April 23, 2026

Grover Cleve Pilkey, lovingly known as Cleve, of Ten Mile, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy built on generosity, devotion, and a deep love for the people and places that shaped his life.

Born and raised in East Tennessee, Cleve was the son of Roy and Edna Pilkey and the devoted husband of Edith Pilkey, who remained the center of his world. His life was rich with the simple joys he cherished most-quiet mornings on the water with a fishing pole in hand, time spent outdoors, a good plate of sushi, and a square of dark chocolate tucked away for later. But above all, Cleve's greatest joy was his family.

He was a proud brother, uncle, and friend, with several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the true badge of honor in his life, the accomplishment he held closest to his heart. To them, he was a steady presence, a storyteller, a protector, and a source of endless affection.

Cleve retired from Webb's Heating, Plumbing, and Electric in Athens, Tennessee, where he built not only a career but lifelong friendships. His coworkers knew him as a man who showed up, worked hard, and always found a way to lend a hand.

Those who knew Cleve will remember him most for his giving heart. He was the kind of man who would share what he had, help without being asked, and love without hesitation. His family was his pride, his community, his home, and his kindness is his legacy.

He leaves behind a world made better by his presence and a family forever grateful for the love he gave so freely.

The family will hold a private memorial and graveside service. Memorial contributions and sympathy cards may be sent to: 622 Tennessee Ave, Etowah, TN 37331
