Grace Mary Kowanetz

Grace Mary Kowanetz, age 77, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022. She was a daughter of the late Veto “Bill” and Mary Scavone D’Agostino. She was actively involved in the formation of the Decatur Library, was a volunteer/ Executive Director for Contact Helpline for 16 years and received a Leadership award from United Way. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Edward “Skip” Kowanetz, sister: Rosalie D’Agostino, brother-in-law: Charles Kowanetz, sisters-in-law: Elena Kowanetz, Maria Ferraro-Fey, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Dayton, TN. Interment will follow in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5-7 on Friday, June 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the American Heart Association. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Kowanetz Family.
