Gordon Owens

Gordon Owens, 71, of Ten Mile passed away December 27, 2017. He was born in Vansant, VA and had been a resident of Ten Mile and briefly in Sweetwater for the past 30 years coming from Vansant, VA. He was a Baptist by faith.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Crettie Owens; a twin brother, Otto Owens; four brothers, Trinkle, Delmar, Otis and Donnie Owens and a sister, Joyce Ann Owens.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Robbin Owens of Sweetwater and Douglas Owens of Ten Mile; a sister, Nellie Pruner of Haysi, VA; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Aaron and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Hunter.

The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 12pm to 2pm. No funeral services are scheduled locally. Burial will be at a later date in Owens Cemetery in Prater, VA.
