Glenn Smith

Glenn Delane Smith, 81, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012. Glenn was the son of the late Glenn G. and Mary King Smith. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and worked in construction before retiring. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ionia Howard Smith; son, Tommy Smith, of Athens; brothers, Gary D. Smith, James Smith, both of Oak Ridge, TN, Don Smith, of Ten Mile; sisters, Audrey Hautala, of Seattle, Wa, Patsy Johnson, of Lenior City, TN , Rae Parker, of Clinton, TN; grandsons, Travis Smith, Gregg Smith, Derrick Shanahan; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thurs. Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends Thurs. from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Fri., Dec. 28, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Ten Mile. Pallbearers are Bob Leffew, Anthony Ellison, Austin Ellison, Wayne Evans, Carrie Bishop, Curtis Porter. Honorary Pallbearers are Don Walden and Tyler Ray. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Ten Mile.
