Gertie Curnutt

Laura Gertrude "Gertie" Curnutt, 75, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015.

She attended Faith Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 53 ½ wonderful years, Dan Curnutt, of Ten Mile; 2 daughters, Brenda Luisa and her husband Ray, of Athens, and Mendy Curnutt, of Madisonville; 1 brother, Bill Mauck, of Maryville; 4 sisters, Freida Mauck, of Madisonville, Jane Watts, of Madisonville, Barbara Moses and her husband Hank, of Telico, Carol Turpin, of Madisonville; 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Tallent and her husband Austin, of Athens; 1 grandson, Nick Curnutt and Bri Hamilton, of Madisonville; a very special friend, Christy Anderson, of Ten Mile.

Pallbearers will be Ray Luisa, Austin Tallent, Nick Curnutt, Mark Vance, Bobby Anderson, Tony Moore, Ronnie Brown and Darrell Walden.

Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Ellison, Donnie Smith and Jim Bowers.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 8 pm in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Couch and Pastor Curtis Porter officiating.

Interment will be 1 pm Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ten Mile, TN.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family sends a special thanks to the staff at Madisonville Health and Rehab Center.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the local Gideon Chapter, P.O. Box 250, Decatur, TN 37322.
