Gary Howard Cooper

June 4, 1940 — February 1, 2018

Gary Cooper, 77, of Decatur passed away at his home February 1, 2018. He was born in Washington Court House, Ohio and had been a resident of Decatur for the past 15 years coming from Tipp City, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Army between 1959 and 1961. Gary loved to golf and play baseball. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Cooper; his step-mother, Margaret Cooper; and two step-brothers, John Wright and Bob Wright.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Faith Cooper of Decatur; two daughters, Tracy (Craig) Arndts of Ten-Mile and Penny (James) Schoeneman of Niceville, FL; Three Step-brothers, Larry Cooper of Colorado, Phil Cooper of Ohio and Mark Cooper of Ohio; two grandchildren, Megan (Jeremy) Woody of Ten-Mile and Lindsay (Tyler) Richensin of Sweetwater; and a great-granddaughter, Harper Woody.

No services are scheduled at this time. Graveside services with military honors will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City, Ohio on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11am.

Bowers funeral home of Decatur has been entrusted with the local arrangements. Morton Whetstone Funeral Home of Vandalia, Ohio is in charge of the burial arrangements.
