Freda Yvonne Petitt

Freda Yvonne Petitt, age 76, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026.

Freda was a graduate of Meigs County High School. Freda worked alongside her sisters, Linda and Jane, at Lawson's Café' in Decatur, which opened in 1992 and closed in 2009. She was a very special aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

Freda is preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Pettit; parents, Coy and Grace Lawson, sisters, Margie Dean Palmer and Linda Wilson; brothers Kenneth and Harold Lawson.

Freda is survived by her sister, Jane Lawson; brothers, Douglas (Sandy) Lawson, Jimmy (Susie) Lawson; sisters in law, Shirley and Pat Lawson; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren Bobby Pettit, Gayle Petitt, Joni (Jackie) Powers, Debbie (Ronnie) Humphreys.

Per Freda's request, there will be no formal services.
