Frances Jones Thomas

Frances Jones Thomas, age 98, of Athens, native of Meigs Co, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was a daughter of the late George and Sara Denton. She loved traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She retired from Damy Industries in Athens, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Thomas; brother: J.T. Denton; sisters: Annabelle Denton, Hazel Kyker. She will be greatly missed by her step-daughter: Martha Shoemaker (Michael), of Cleveland, TN; step-sons: Karl Thomas (Beth) of Athens, TN, Kenneth Thomas Jr. (Jill) of Layton, UT; nieces: Brinda Michelson of Calhoun, TN, Sheila Smith of Kodiak, AK, Sharon Pearce ( Wally) of Winters, CA, Debbie Braswell (Dale) of Adel, GA, Teresa Williams (Ashley) of Clarksville, GA, Kerri Luckey (Cole) of Cornelia, GA; nephews: Tim Denton of Hixson, TN, Mike Denton of Hixson, TN, Justin Williams (Chrissy) of Cumming, GA, Chandler Williams (Jordan) of Macon, GA, Jeremy Smith of Kodiak, AK, Dustin Michelson of Emporia, KS, Chuck Pearce of Winters, CA; granddaughter: Ashleigh Brewer (Cory) of Englewood, TN. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Ashley Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11- noon, prior to the service. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Thomas Family.
