Frances Lewis Roberts

Frances Lewis Roberts, age 95, a lifelong resident of Meigs County, Tennessee, transitioned to her heavenly home on July 20, 2022. Frances was born on April 24, 1927, to the late Spencer and Glen Kinser Lewis. She grew up in the Pleasant Hill and Goodfield communities and was a 1946 graduate of Meigs County High School. She also graduated from McKenzie Business College. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Frances was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture for 44 years, beginning in 1950 until retirement in 1994. She was passionate about her career, serving and helping the farmers of Meigs County, as Director of the Meigs County ASCS Office. Frances was very active in her church and community activities. She was an avid supporter of her Alma Mater, Meigs County High School, especially sporting events, however, her greatest passion and most fulfilling role was being NANA to Tad and Tyler. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Roberts, her brothers: Bob, Joe and Sam Lewis; sister: Mary Ruth Brown; and brothers in law, Russell and Owen Roberts. She is Survived by her son, Don and wife, Sarah Ziegler Roberts, grandsons, Tad and Tyler (Stephanie) Roberts; brother, Edd (Penny) Lewis, sister in law, Barbara (D.L.) Millaway and several nieces and nephews. The family of Frances Roberts wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the Hospice team; caregivers: Shirley Lawson, Sharon Z. Stephens, Rena Baker, Dorothy Greene, Bobbie Baker, special niece, Paulette Jones and a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be held July 27, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 121 Lower Pleasant Hill Road, Decatur, Tennessee, with Dr. Dale Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be July 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Goodfield Cemetery, 3027 Goodfield Road, Decatur, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Goodfield Cemetery at P.O. Box 1231, Decatur, TN 37322. Serving as Pallbearers: Tad and Tyler Roberts, Larry Ziegler, Jim Ledford, Sammy Perkinson and Jim Baxter. Honorary Pallbearers: Lewis Thompson, Ned Proffitt, Doug Lewis, Mike Lewis, Tim Winder and The Farmers of Meigs County.
