Effie J. Rayl, 90, a resident of Niota, TN formerly of Decatur, TN, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2015 in Brookewood Nursing Center. She attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Worked 35 years at Ridge Textile, Athens, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Earl Rayl; mother Mary Bell Newman McKeehan, father Leo McKIeehan, sisters, May Ball, Geneva Arnold; brothers, Bill McKeehan and Bruce McKeehan. Survivors include 4 sons, Raymond Allen Rayl and lifelong friend Linda Yates, Jack and Patricia Rayl, Paul and Kim Rayl, David and Bridgette Rayl, all of Niota; two daughters, Helen Rayl and Doug Brown of Decatur, Evelyn Rayl Cordell of Cleveland; grandchildren, Mike and Timmy Dawson, Brent Harden, Michelle Ledford, Britney Carmon, Jesse Rayl, Nathan Rayl, Zack Rayl, Ryan Rayl, Amanda Rayl, Ashlyn Rayl; great grandchildren, Alex Dawson, Cody Dawson, Travis Dawson, Brook Dawson, Bryanna Faith Harden, Lauren Olivia Ledford, Julia Holt Ledford, Caroline Reed Ledford. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 9 at 7 pm with Bro. Mike Rymer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 1 pm, Tuesday, in the Tranquility Cemetery, Niota.
