Edwin Mack Layman

Edwin Mack Layman, age 78, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his home with his family. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He retired from DuPont after more than 30 years of service.

He was proceeded in death by his parents: Ted and Bessie Marie McNabb Layman, son: Dave Layman, brothers: Don Layman, Harald Layman, Teddy Layman, Johnny Layman.

Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife of 51 years Tommie Kaye Layman of Decatur, sons: Richie Layman of Decatur, Heath Layman of Decatur, brother: Dan Layman, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, July 24, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. David Moore officiating. Final resting place will be at Beta Cemetery on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5 to 7 at the Funeral Home.

Pall Bearers will be: Jamie Cofer, Allen Hickman, Johnathan Layman, Christopher Davis, Hayden Davis, and Jeff Charles.
