Edward Eugene Nelson

Edward "Ed" Eugene Nelson, 31, of Decatur, died on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 due to an automobile accident. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents, Jerry and Geraldine Thomas; Paternal grandparents Eugene and Poudie Nelson. Ed worked at Ace Hardware for over sixteen years. He is survived by his parents, Estel H. and Tammy (Thompson) Nelson of Decatur; brother Thomas Nelson of Decatur; nephew Thomas Nathaniel Nelson, niece Abigail Marie Nelson, nephew Robert Isaih Nelson and nephew Kaydin Moore; several aunts and uncles; special friend Jeff Roberts and the Wade family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8 pm in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Andrew officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home 5 till 8 pm, Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 2 pm, Sunday in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
