Edward Lee “Blue” Jennings, lifelong resident of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 85.
He was born on November 7, 1939, to the late Perry and Edna Varnell Jennings. On June 22, 1957, he married Helen Murphy and started a devoted partnership of 67 years. Edward owned and operated Jennings Truck Parts with his father for over 50 years. He and Helen enjoyed NASCAR Races, camping in the mountains, traveling with their dog Cosmo, and spending time with family. He also had a passion for restoring and working on Chevrolet Cars. He was a 48-year member of Meigs Lodge #213 F.& A.M.
Edward’s dedication to his family and his passion for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Murphy Jennings; children: Connie Jennings Workman, Angela Jennings, Jamison Edward Jennings; brother: Jim Everett, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and a host of friends.
A private masonic service was held in Edward’s honor on January 16, 2025, with entombment at Meigs County Memorial Gardens.
