Edna Burgner

Edna Burgner was called home to be with God on June 11, 2025, surrounded by her children and sisters.

She was born April 12, 1934, and was one of twelve children. She was a resident of Decatur TN and retired after 44 years of service at Charleston Hoisery Mill in Cleveland, TN. She was a member of Bethsadia Baptist Church in Decatur, TN.

She was a mother to five, a grandmother to 11, a great-grandmother to 30, and a great-great grandmother to one.

She is preceded in death by her daughter: Denise Wright; her parents: Sallie and Enoch Hicks; sisters: Fern Ward, Eunice Sefcheck, Connie Gutherie; brothers: Thomas, Hoyle, James, and Dwight Hicks.

She is also survived by her sons: Douglas Burgner, Daniel Burgner; daughters: Deborah Houston, Donna Jones; sister: Lois Ellis, Janie Hicks, Jeanie Hall; a brother: Mac Hicks; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Travis Shaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethsadia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Williams, Jeremy Jones, Jake Tucker and great grandsons: Gage Wilford, Mason Wilford, and Mason Wright.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025.
