Edgar Rhea Newby

Edgar "Eddie" Rhea Newby, Sr. , age 69, of Decatur, TN passed away on March 16, 2010 at his residence. Edgar retired from TVA, and retired from the Laborers International Union Local 846, Chattanooga, TN and he was a U.S. Army Veteran. Eddie is Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Newby and Ruby Hutson Newby, son, Edgar Rhea Newby, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Newby of Decatur Brother, Sam Newby of Georgetown, TN Sisters, Stella Stallings of Manila, Arkansas Betty Stokes of Cleveland, TN Grandchildren, Krystal, Shelby and Logan Newby all of Shreveport, LA. Special friends, Rev. David Evans and wife, Sue. Special nephew, Wally McDowell of Decatur, TN Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday March 19,2010 at Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnston Cemetery with full military honors. Family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
