Earl David Johnson

Earl D. Johnson, age 70, of Decatur, TN went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at NHC Health Care Center in Athens, TN. He was a member of Burdette Baptist Church. He loved fishing and outside work. He was preceded in death by parents, Bill and Minnie Bell (True) Johnson; brother William Johnson; sister Geraldine Johnson. He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jason and Kat Johnson, Afghanistan, Larry and Amanda Johnson of Decatur, TN; six daughters and four son-in-laws, Rhonda and Terry Thurman of Athens, TN, Kathy and Gary Roberts of Cleveland, TN, Nicole and Kenny McDermott of Decatur, TN, Debbie and David Hardin of Georgetown, TN, Jessica Prince and friend Andy of Decatur, TN, Sharon Newby of Benton, TN; one brother Earnest Johnson of Decatur, TN; 20 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren; and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Edwards Officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Decatur, TN. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at the funeral home.
