E C Barker

E C Barker, 89, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at home, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015.

Born in Wetumpka, Alabama, he moved to Meigs County in 1985 and retired as an electrician. He was very proud to have served our country in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra Crittenden and Mineola (Welch) Barker; 2 sisters, Mineola "Mody" and Geraldine "Geri".

Survivors include his wife of 67 years this Christmas day, Margaret (Johnson) Barker, of Decatur; 2 sons, Jeffery Barker, of Decatur and Michael Barker and his wife Robin, of Anaheim, Ca.; 2 daughters and their husbands, Leigh and Robert Faerber, of Birchwood and Suzanne and Lonny Elder, of Decatur; 2 sisters and their husbands, Ann and Robert Day, of Pell City, al. and Nan and Clarence Eurton, of Birmingham, Al.; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
