Dorothy Lou "Dot" Stokes

Dorothy Lou “Dot” Burdette Stokes, Born April 4, 1937, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2021. She was a faithful member of Burdette Baptist Church for many years. She helped countless people through the years and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Jennie Burdette; brothers: Joyce Burdette, Pete Burdette; sisters: Geraldine Burdette, Rilda Dungan; infant daughter: Sandra K Stokes; husband: Perry Lee “Bud” Stokes.She is survived by her sons: Glenn Steve Stokes (Janice), Chris Stokes (Sarah), Jamie Stokes; adopted son: Gary Grissom; daughters: Kathy Hayes, Amy Leffew (Roscoe); 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family. We want to thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful mother, nanny, and friend. She will be dearly missed. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Burdette Baptist Church with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the McClanahan Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 prior to the service. Pallbearers will include: Gary Grissom, Chris Stokes, Cody Hayes, Tyler Leffew, Ethan Stokes, Austin Millard, Joe Stokes. Due to Covid 19 regulations we ask that you bring and wear your mask during the service and practice social distancing.
