Dorothy Ellison

Dorothy "Ruth" (Enix) Ellison, age 88, of Ten Mile, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 1, 2011. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Feb (Crabtree) Enix, husband, John H. Ellison, one son Clayton Ellison, two brothers, James Thomas and Thurman Enix, three sisters Ella Ellison, Edna Mae Edgemon and Iva Lee Roberts. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Clata and Lewis Thompson of Decatur, TN; one granddaughter and husband, Bridget and Chris McKenzie. Special nieces and nephews, Anna Faye Ray, Elberta Broadway, Bob Ellison and Chuck Ellison; several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Bolen and Rev. Paul Isom officiating. Interment will be at 11 AM, Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the Roberts Cemetery, Ten Mile, TN. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Wayne Roberts, Jason Crabtree, Craig Thompson, Carey Thompson, Ronnie Colyer, Charles Ellison and Jerry Waldon. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37416 of your favorite charity.
