Dorothy Ellen Denton

Dorothy Ellen Rhan Denton, 89 of Decatur, formerly of Lupton City, TN went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning Dec. 14, 2011 with her family by her side. She was a very special mother, grandmother, sister and neighbor and was lovingly known by everyone as "Dot" of "Miss Dottie". She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Denton; parents, Frank and Clementine Wilkey Rhan. Survivors include daughter Carolyn and husband Dan Layman; sister Francis and husband Jack Erwin; nephew, Randy Erwin; four grandchildren, Dan Layman Jr., Melissa and husband Mark Wilson, Regina and husband Jason Kirk, Jason and wife Tabitha Layman; eight great-grandchildren, Derrick Layman and wife Jessica, Darren Layman and wife Laura, Dixie Layman, Jacy Layman, Elin Layman, Tristan, Noah and Madison Fischer; one great-great-grandchild, Gabriel Layman and a special family friend Dennis "Dent" Capehart and his wife Joyce and son Samuel. Graveside Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 in the Decatur Cemetery with interment to follow.
